As you can see, the house features decorative brackets, ornate custom railings, and three different styles of bay windows. The back of the house includes a two-story sunroom, a design that appears to be common throughout the district. The original pony shed still remains at the rear of the property. There have been rumors that this house was constructed for his mistress so he could keep an eye on her while residing at 136 Crescent Ave.  However, records indicate that this was actually built for Henry D. Janes, who worked in insurance in New York City.
